so my wedding is a black tie victorian themed event. you know, pearls, red roses, bride white and champagne colors. I love the whole elegant, victorian vibe. Howver, I also love things that are fun, so I was thinking that for my reception, It could be themed as this black tie masquerade! masquerades are super fun and sexy, and romantic. My only concern is that it would be difficult to make the transition from victorian wedding to masquerade. I also don’t want a costume/freaky mask masquerade, I want an old fashioned ball gowned elegant one. what do you think?
thank you all for the answers! i just want to clarify, the dress code for the wedding is black tie, so the guest wouldnt have to change, as they would already have on the appropriate clothing. I plan on keeping the masquerade elegant, and not costume like or theatrical, or over the top. My only concern is that it does not clash with the ambiance of the wedding. comments?
